Irish Sean-Nós Singing

Nollaig Nic Aindriú, from Castlebar, Co. Mayo, is a gifted Sean Nós singer whose remarkable talent has earned her recognition at the highest levels of Irish traditional singing. A multiple All-Ireland champion, Nollaig’s accolades include titles up to senior in both English and Irish singing at the Fleadh Cheoil, as well as a prestigious Senior Title in English singing. In 2008, Nollaig earned further acclaim by securing second place in Oireachtas na Samhna when the event was held in Westport. Her passion for preserving and sharing the timeless tradition of Sean Nós singing shines through in her performances and teaching.

Nollaig’s deep connection to Irish singing and her mastery of expressive storytelling have captivated audiences. Known for her evocative voice and heartfelt interpretation of traditional songs, she brings a rich blend of technical skill and emotional resonance to her singing.

This year, the John McFadden Festival is thrilled to welcome Nollaig to Newport, where she will teach Sean Nós singing. Her workshops promise to be an incredible opportunity for singers of all levels to learn from one of Mayo’s finest talents.
