On Sunday 4 th February, Féile Sheáin Mhic Pháidín – John Mc Fadden Festival welcomes The Piper’s Cross Céilí Band to the stage for the féiles first céilí. After their powerful performance at the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in Mullingar in August 2023, the band were crowned All Ireland Champions. A historic win, as this talented young band are the first senior céilí band from Mayo to ever receive the title since the competition started in 1951. The lively band always brings a vibrant energy to the stage through their music which strongly reflects the great set dancing tradition of Mayo.
The band hails from the County of Mayo, with the exception of one member from Fermanagh. Bandmembers include Caoimhe Kilkenny, Paul Clesham and Eoghan Hughes (Fiddles), Aodhan Hughes (Banjo), Conor Maheady and Cian Kilkenny (Flute), Davóg Frayne (Button Accordion), Edel Flemming (Concertina), Eoin Walshe (Piano) and Ryan Maguire (Drums).
The céilí will start at 4pm and run until 7.30pm. Tea and refreshments served. Entry €12. All Welcome!
